This project aimed to visually embody the unique aesthetic of Benguiat Gothic, a playful sans-serif font designed in 1979. The challenge lay in capturing the font's inherent personality and historical context through both a poster and a corresponding magazine spread, creating a cohesive and compelling set of designs. The goal was not just to display the font, but to express its character through layout, composition, and visual elements.
My design process began with a deep dive into the history and characteristics of Benguiat Gothic. I explored the font's playful yet structured form, its connection to the late 1970s, and its potential for contemporary application. For the poster, I focused on dynamic typography, using scale and placement to emphasize the font's unique letterforms.
